Limited potential of financial, organizational, human and technology resources doesn’t provide SMEs sufficient opportunities to access information and knowledge necessary in competition. Observing the methods and tools used by large companies, this book studies the conditions under which it would be possible to provide support to SMEs at a lower cost and with greater methodological and organizational backing. The author presents the proposed solution, Benchmarking Collaborative Network, which would provide SMEs access to information about their level of competitiveness, the key areas for the creation of competitive advantage and the activities required to achieve this advantage. Katarzyna Rostek is a researcher and lecturer at the faculty of Management, Warsaw University of Technology since 1993. Her scientific and research interests relate primarily to decision support systems in the area of analytical modeling, data processing and reporting. She participated in several research projects, for example: Modelling of data mining process in Polish insurance companies, Model of Business Intelligence system for SME, Study of efficacy of support logistic in Polish Police or Study of commercial potential of innovative projects. Dr. Rostek has been awarded the prize of the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology for scientific achievements.
